 Pumice

Classification:Igneous Rock

A porous pyroclastic rock is lighter, floating on water, variable in composition and light in color, and formed during volcanic eruption.

Pumice is a small, porous and light pyroclastic material. It is mostly composed of siliceous magma, including andesite, quartz andesite and rhyolite. In the rock, the gas hole accounts for more than 70% of the total volume of the rock. The pores are only connected with very thin glass. They can float in the water, so they are called Pumice or pumice.

Form:
Pumice consists of volcanic glass, minerals and bubbles. It is a light, bubbling and sponge like volcanic rock. When the volcano erupted, a large number of volcanic gases separated from the magma formed foam, then the foam cooled and the gas was "frozen" in the Pumice. The bubbles in the Pumice accounted for more than 70% of the total volume of the rock. The only thin volcanic glass and mineral between the bubbles could float above the surface of the water, so it was called Pumice.

Characteristic:
A multi hole eruption rock. It looks like slag. Its color is light. It is mostly white, gray and light (0.3-0.4). It can float in water and has medium hardness. Commonly known as pumice, honeycomb stone, water pumice, Jiang Moshi, bryozoatum (used as medicine). Vitreous structure, stomatal structure.
