Pyroxenite

 Pyroxenite

Classification:Igneous Rock

An ultrabasic intrusive rock, almost all of the pyroxene minerals (>90%), mostly black, gray and black, usually symbiotic with other ultramafic rocks (peridotite) and mafic rock (gabbro).

Pyroxenite is the deep content of more than 85% of the regional metamorphic rocks pyroxene. It is mainly composed of diopside and pyroxene, containing a small amount of hornblende, Xie Changshi, quartz and magnetite. It is usually medium coarse-grained structure and massive structure. It is usually produced by small lens. It is ultrabasic or magnesium rich impure dolomite, which is formed by intermediate high grade metamorphism.

Pyroxenite is a regional metamorphic rock with pyroxene content greater than 85%. It consists mainly of diopside or (and) perilla pyroxene, which contains a small amount of common hornblende, garnet, Xie Changshi, quartz, magnetite, and sometimes contains a small amount of black mica. Generally, the structure of the coarse kerchief and the lump structure. It often occurs as a small lens or interlayer, and is closely related to metamorphic rocks of granulite facies or amphibolite facies. It is a product of ultrabasic dolomite and ultrabasic rock or ultramafic dolomite.

Characteristic:
Pyroxenite is mainly composed of diopside or (and) perilla pyroxene, which contains a small amount of common hornblende, garnet, plagioclase, quartz, magnetite, and sometimes contains a small amount of black mica. Generally, the coarse-grained crystalline structure and the lump structure are found. It usually occurs in lens or interlayer, and is closely associated with metamorphic rocks in granulite facies or amphibolite facies. They are mainly the products of ultramafic rocks through middle and high grade metamorphism. This rock is generally not a large rock mass and is not widely distributed.
